Industrial Flood Damage Restoration Restores 69 Machines in Thailand

After severe flooding hit Semperflex Asia Corporation’s manufacturing facility in Hat Yai, Thailand, BELFOR restored 69 production machines and manufacturing lines. The recovery was completed in approximately 1.5 months, helping the manufacturer resume production, reduce replacement costs and protect business continuity.

Severe Flooding Threatens Production at Semperflex Asia

Between 19 and 27 November 2025, severe rainfall caused widespread flooding across Hat Yai District in Thailand’s Songkhla Province. On 24 November, floodwater breached the protection barriers surrounding Semperflex Asia Corporation’s production facility and entered the manufacturing area. Water levels reached approximately 70 centimetres above floor level.

The flooding affected critical production machinery, electrical control cabinets and other equipment. For a manufacturer of hydraulic and industrial hoses serving sectors including manufacturing, construction, agriculture, mining and infrastructure, an extended production stoppage posed a significant business continuity risk.

BELFOR Mobilises an Industrial Flood Damage Restoration Team

Semperflex Asia engaged BELFOR (Thailand) Ltd. on 30 November 2025. BELFOR specialists immediately began assessing the extent of the damage and developing a structured recovery plan focused on restoring production as efficiently as possible.

A comprehensive damage assessment and recovery strategy was established by 2 December. Five days later, specialised personnel, equipment and restoration technologies were deployed for the full-scale recovery operation.

BELFOR focused on restoring machinery control panels, electrical systems and production equipment

Rather than simply replacing flood-affected assets, BELFOR focused on restoring machinery control panels, electrical systems and production equipment wherever technically possible. The restoration specialists worked closely with Semperflex Asia’s engineering, maintenance and production teams to coordinate the recovery and minimise operational downtime.

69 Production Machines and Lines Successfully Restored

The industrial flood damage restoration ultimately returned 69 production machines and manufacturing lines to operation. The recovery project was completed in approximately 1.5 months, allowing the facility to resume production within the targeted timeframe. The case study also records the successful recovery of the 69 machines and process lines within 42 working days.

Restoring critical equipment instead of replacing it also helped reduce recovery costs and limit the wider business impact of the flood.

During restoration

Most importantly, the work enabled Semperflex Asia to restart production faster than anticipated while protecting productivity, revenue and supply continuity.

Technical Restoration Supports Faster Business Recovery

The project demonstrates why industrial flood recovery involves more than removing water and cleaning affected areas. When production equipment, control cabinets and electrical systems are exposed to floodwater, a structured technical restoration strategy can help determine which assets can be safely recovered rather than replaced.

In this case, specialist technical expertise, project management and close cooperation between the BELFOR and Semperflex Asia teams enabled the manufacturer to overcome a major flooding event while limiting prolonged disruption.

Factory Manager Suchart Sae-Pong highlighted BELFOR’s prompt response, practical restoration solutions, professionalism and flexibility throughout the project. He stated that Semperflex Asia was highly satisfied with the outcome and would recommend BELFOR for professional disaster recovery and restoration services.

From Flood Damage to Business Continuity in 42 Working Days

The recovery of 69 machines and process lines within 42 working days illustrates the value of combining rapid disaster response with specialist industrial restoration. Instead of allowing damaged production assets to become a prolonged barrier to recovery, the project focused on getting critical equipment and production capabilities back into operation.

For Semperflex Asia, the outcome was not simply restored machinery. It was a faster return to production, reduced operational disruption and the protection of business continuity following a severe natural disaster.
